| In the early 1990’s, Bob and Ellen Healey established a basic equestrian program on their Lumberton farm, enabling children with hardships to ride and care for horses. This soon grew into the GEP program we know today. In 1998, the Healey’s founded a non–profit organization known as Living Bridges International (LBI). GEP began with 6 horses and 5 children and has grown to over 20 horses helping many children. In 2001, GEP hired a full time trainer and a Program Coordinator. The addition of these two fully dedicated professionals has not only led to an outstanding riding program, but also to help nurture and support the children of the Gleneayre Equestrian Program.

Member Achievements
Many of the parents of the GEP students have reported a marked increase in organizational skills, confidence, and self–esteem in their children. Through constant emphasis on team building, program members have developed into loyal and trusting youths who understand the importance of hard work and determination, patience and understanding, and good clean fun. As a result of the tutoring program, children who were struggling, even failing have shown great improvement in school. In addition, several program participants have accomplished notable achievements such as: All USA Academic team nominee, Jersey Fresh’s NJ State Equestrian of the Year, and Burlington County 4H Equestrian of the Year. Many members of the program have been awarded 4H State Championships in Dressage, Equitation, and Hunters. Several have competed at the National and State level in public speaking competitions. Program members volunteer at many venues throughout the year such as at Fete Cheval (to benefit Equiss Foundation) and the Beacon Hill Equestrian Grand Prix.
